The Government of India has relaxed the Covid norms for flyers from Monday. Passengers traveling to or through India from or via Thailand, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, and China will no longer be required to upload a self-health declaration to the "air suvidha" portal or provide a negative report from a pre-departure Covid test.
No matter where a traveler comes from, they will still be subjected to a random 2% test upon arrival in India.
After these six locations experienced a "sustained and considerable decline in trend of Covid cases" over the previous four weeks, the Union Health Ministry altered guidelines for travelers traveling from or via these locations.
In addition, according to a note from Union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan to his aviation ministry counterpart Rajiv Bansal, World Health Organizations most recent situational update on Covid stated that there have been 89% fewer newly confirmed cases globally in the last 28 days compared to the 28 days before that. India reported less than 100 new cases are recorded daily, which has continued to experience a downward trend.
India has been updating the requirements for foreign immigration according to the pandemic scenario.
